The 7 Steps
- Install a Sui wallet and back up its recovery phrase. Copy your Sui receiving address.
- Confirm ETH is on Ethereum mainnet in MetaMask, with extra set aside for gas.
- Open the bridge (URL typed by hand) and connect your Ethereum wallet.
- Set the route: from Ethereum (ETH) to Sui. Check what arrives — typically wrapped ETH on Sui.
- Paste your Sui address as the destination and verify it character by character.
- Bridge a small test amount first. Approve the spend, confirm, and pay mainnet gas.
- Verify in your Sui wallet, then repeat with the full amount. Swap a little for SUI afterward to cover future fees.
Fees, Timing, and Safety
Mainnet gas dominates the cost — bridge during off-peak hours. Sui-side fees are negligible. Transfers typically finalize within minutes, though cross-ecosystem relays can occasionally take longer.
Sui’s newness makes it a phishing hotspot: fake Sui wallets and “Sui airdrop” sites are rampant. Install wallet software only from official sources, and never import your Ethereum seed phrase into a Sui wallet app (or vice versa) — different chains, different phrases.
